How do you prepare your teens for an event? Do they meet a few times before to break the ice, share intentions, pray, play games, form small groups for the event, etc,? What had worked for you?
Fundraisers also serve as a good time to for relational ministry. Especially a car wash. Car washes aren't actually a big money maker for us but we do them just for the splish-splash environment and hanging out with the teens that we will be hanging out with for a conference or major event. Order a few pizzas around noon time during the car wash, sit under a tree and again.. just get to know them.
We do a parent/teen Pot-Luck a few days before the event again for relational purpose and to make sure we are all on the same page.
